Sandcastle Design Competition – “My Sea, My Timor”

The Department of THC proudly participated in the sandcastle drawing competition held as part of the National Ocean Week, celebrated from June 3 to June 8, 2026. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Environment under the inspiring theme “My Sea, My Timor.”

The competition brought together several academic institutions, including IOB, UCT, ISJB, DIT, IPDC, UNDIL, and UNPAZ, in a vibrant atmosphere of creativity and celebration of Timor-Leste’s maritime identity. In this competition the teams from the following institutions won with the following results: 🥇 1st Place – UNPAZ, 🥈 2nd Place – UNDIL and 🥉 3rd Place – IPDC.

The Department of THC stood out with great dedication and talent, securing third place and showcasing the commitment of its participants to honoring the sea as an essential part of Timorese culture and national life.

This event not only promoted creativity and healthy competition but also emphasized the importance of ocean preservation and the deep connection Timor-Leste shares with the sea.
