"Together, we continue the Canossian mission of educating minds and transforming hearts"

On 18 June 2026, the community of the Instituto Profissional de Canossa (IPDC) had the joy and privilege of welcoming Mother General, Madre Sandra Maggiolo, during her canonical visit to the Canossian educational community.

Madre Sandra arrived at IPDC at 11:00 a.m. and was warmly welcomed with traditional Timorese cultural dances before being accompanied to the central patio, where she addressed students, faculty, staff, and collaborators. In her message, she emphasized the spirit of unity that binds the Canossian family and all those who share in the mission of educating the heart.

Reflecting on the Canossian educational vision, Madre Sandra reminded the community that “We educate minds and transform hearts,” encouraging everyone to continue forming young people who will contribute to the development of society and help build a brighter future for Timor-Leste.

The visit continued with a welcome reception, followed by a formal gathering in the seminar room where the life, achievements, and ongoing initiatives of IPDC were presented. An engaging dialogue session allowed members of the academic community to interact directly with Madre Sandra and share their experiences, hopes, and challenges.

During her visit, Madre Sandra toured the institution’s departments and offices, gaining a deeper understanding of the realities and aspirations of the IPDC community. She also signed several institutional documents, leaving a lasting testimony of her visit as the Successor of Saint Magdalene of Canossa.

The canonical visit was a moment of grace, inspiration, and renewal for the entire IPDC family. It strengthened our commitment to the Canossian mission of service, education, and hope as we continue to educate minds, transform hearts, and build a better future for Timor-Leste.
