IPDC Research Centre Conducts Capacity-Building Training for Junior Researchers
As part of the ongoing development of the Research Centre of the Instituto Profissional de Canossa (IPDC), a capacity-building training program is currently being conducted for junior researchers who will serve as research assistants in field-based research activities.
The training aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to support data collection, organization, and analysis in applied research projects undertaken by the IPDC Research Centre.
Throughout the program, participants are developing essential research competencies, including data collection techniques, communication skills, teamwork, observation, documentation, and data management. The training also seeks to foster a rigorous and reflective approach to scientific inquiry, ensuring that research activities are conducted with professionalism and academic integrity.
A key component of the training focuses on research ethics and ethical protocols. Participants are introduced to fundamental principles such as informed consent, confidentiality, participant protection, respect for human dignity, and the ethical responsibilities of researchers throughout the research process.
This initiative forms part of IPDC’s broader commitment to strengthening a culture of research and innovation within the institution while preparing a new generation of researchers capable of contributing to knowledge production and sustainable development in Timor-Leste.
Through this training programme, the IPDC Research Centre reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, applied research, and the development of competent and ethically responsible researchers who can make meaningful contributions to society
